A new series is bringing the world of underground idols a little closer, thanks to a fan who’s just a little devoted to her fave.
Manga artist Auri Hirao’s series Oshi ga Budoukan Itte Kuretara Shinu (which basically comes out to “I’d Die for My Fave to Get to Budoukan”) was announced last year to be receiving an anime adaptation, and the stars have aligned for it to be ready for next year. A new trailer has dropped, featuring our first look at the girls of Cham-Jam and their most devoted fan:
Ai Farouz (Hibiki Sakura, How Heavy Are the Dumbbells You Lift?) stars as Eripyo, a 20-year-old fan of underground idol group Cham-Jam. In particular she’s obsessed with Maina (whose voice actor can be heard but has not yet been officially identified), one of the group’s less popular members. It’s fairly obvious that Eripyo’s love for Maina goes above and beyond admiration, and Maina isn’t against this at all… but things just keep getting in the way.
Yusuke Yamamoto (Encouragement of Climb) will be directing, with Deko Akao (Arakawa Under the Bridge) handling series composition. Tomoyuki Shiyaya (Food Wars!) and Masaru Yonezawa will be serving as lead character designers.
OshiBudo is expected to roll out some time in 2020.
